Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Service

Q: What kind of cat boarding do you offer?

A: We provide home-based cat boarding in carefully selected and loving cat sitters’ homes. Each cat is boarded individually (unless they are from the same household), ensuring personalised care and a calm, cage-free environment.

Q: Where are you based?

A: We have local sitters across many UK cities. Once you fill out our booking form, we match you with the most suitable nearby sitter.

Booking Process

Q: How do I book a stay for my cat?

A: It’s simple:

1. Fill out our short booking form

2. We’ll send you suitable sitter options

3. Choose your preferred one, and we’ll arrange a video call or viewing

4. Pay a £50 deposit to confirm the booking

Q: When is full payment due?

A: The balance is paid after you drop off your cat.

Q: Can I meet the sitter before booking?

A: Yes. We usually arrange a video introduction, but in-person viewings can be arranged if necessary.

Before & During the Stay

Q: What should I bring when dropping off my cat?

A: Please bring your cat’s food, litter, and any personal comfort items like toys or blankets.

Q: Is food included?

A: No. As each cat has unique dietary needs, we ask owners to provide their own food. We discount our rate to help cover your cost for food and litter.

Q: Will my cat be kept with other animals?

A: No. We only board one cat (or household group) per sitter, ensuring a stress-free and safe stay.

Q: What happens in a medical emergency?

A: Your cat will be taken to the nearest registered vet. We highly recommend having pet insurance, especially for longer stays. All medical costs are the responsibility of the owner.

Cat Requirements

Q: Does my cat need to be vaccinated?

A: Yes, all cats must be fully vaccinated and flea-treated. We may ask for proof before the stay.

Q: Do you accept unneutered cats?

A: Yes, on a case-by-case basis. They must be non-aggressive and kept strictly indoors during the stay.

Communication & Updates

Q: Will I get updates during the stay?

A: Absolutely! Sitters send regular photos, videos, or messages so you can stay reassured while you’re away.

Q: How do I contact someone during my cat’s stay?

A: You’ll have direct contact with your sitter via WhatsApp, or you can reach out to our support team anytime.

Trust, Insurance & Safety

Q: Are your sitters licensed catteries?

A: No. Our sitters are not licensed commercial catteries, but instead trusted individuals who offer home-based cat care.

Q: Is this service legal?

A: Yes. Our business is registered in the UK under the trading name Cattery 001. Home-based cat boarding for one or two cats at a time is fully legal without a boarding licence in most areas.

Q: Do you provide insurance?

A: We do not provide pet insurance. We strongly recommend cat owners have their own pet insurance, particularly for medical care or longer stays.

Q: Can I see the sitter’s home before booking?

A: Yes. We typically start with a video call, and we can arrange in-person visits when needed.

Cancellations & Refunds

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: The £50 deposit is non-refundable as it secures the sitter’s time. If your plans change, we’re happy to help you reschedule where possible.

Q: What if I need to cancel last minute?

A: Please let us know as early as possible. Last-minute cancellations may not be refundable beyond the deposit, especially if the sitter has reserved their availability for your booking.
